The Journey Echos

You hear them at the mountaintop.

They say, “Keep climbing, don’t stop.

The view from here is amazing,

For sure, it’s worth your arriving and gazing”.

But your feet are hurting, you’re drenched in sweat

You think should I go on or hedge my bet?

You hear them again, echoes of joy and cheer;

they shout to you, “We think you’re near.”

But your back is aching, and your mouth is dry

You can’t help but wonder what was my original why?

Then you hear that inner trusted voice.

It reminds you why you made this challenging choice.

You relax, inhale that knowing in, and exhale the rest out.

It's time to carry on, your faith is restored; you know your route.

You see them ahead now, their arms wide to welcome you.

They cheer and smile; you feel healthily loved and new.

You're all the way there now, a little shaky but full of pride.

Can’t help but to deeply appreciate them and your inner guide.

You’re all there together; you gaze all around;

the view is truly amazing; you don’t make a sound.
